JOB DESCRIPTION - Planning & Assessment Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness

POSITION TITLE: Planning & Assessment Coordinator

SUPERVISOR: Director, Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness

PURPOSE: To support university stakeholders in planning and assessment activities that improve student learning, student success, institutional effectiveness, and organizational performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assessment Coordination (30%)

Coordinate the university's annual assessment reporting process for academic programs, administrative and operational units, and student support services.

Provide consultation on the development of measurable learning outcomes, operational outcomes/key performance indicators, and assessment plans.

Review assessment reports and provide constructive feedback that promotes continuous improvement.

Maintain and communicate annual reporting schedules, deadlines and expectations.

Training, Facilitation and Technical Support (20%)

Work with Academic Affairs and other stakeholders to co-design and facilitate workshops, webinars, and other professional development on topics such as assessment design, learning outcomes, operational outcomes, strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Deliver instruction through both in-person and virtual modalities.

Provide consultation, coaching and technical assistance for faculty and staff.

Maintain assessment documentation, templates, reporting guides, and institutional resources.

Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement (20%)

Support institutional strategic planning initiatives and unit-level planning efforts.

Help translate institutional priorities into measurable assessment and planning activities, including measurable goals, objectives, and success metrics.

Facilitate cross-functional planning sessions and collaborative improvement initiatives.

Support implementation of continuous improvement methodologies.

Research, Data Analysis, and Reporting (20%)

Review best practices and conduct environmental scans relevant to student learning, student success, institutional effectiveness, and organizational performance.

Conduct key informant interviews and surveys, analyze institutional data and report findings into

clear, actionable recommendations.

Other Duties as Assigned (10%)

Other duties may include professional development, accreditation support and data governance.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Program Evaluation, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely related field.

Two years of experience in assessment, program evaluation, strategic planning or applied

research.

Experience facilitating workshops or professional learning. Experience with survey development and administration. Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Highly self-motivated and directed.

Strong attention to detail is required.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with experience in Institutional Research & Effectiveness in Higher Education Experience using assessment management systems (e.g. Nuventive Improve, Watermark Planning & Self-Study, or similar platforms).

Experience using business intelligence or visualization tools such as Power Bl or Tableau.

Experience with statistical software {SPSS, Stata, R, or similar). Experience developing online learning content.

Familiarity with strategic planning methodologies.

Experience facilitating organizational change or continuous improvement initiatives.

OFFICE HOURS: Eight {8) hours per day, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. Additional hours worked as needed.
