Fabrication & Stamping Operations Head (P&L Owner)
Your challenge: Elevate two Phoenix Stamping Group plants by tightening safety, sharpening quality, accelerating delivery, and optimizing costs—while developing people and systems that scale.
Reporting line: Vice President of Manufacturing
90/180-day impact roadmap
- Days 0–30: Baseline OEE/OTD/COPQ, verify ERP routings, review staffing vs. demand, and assess 6S/visual factory maturity.
- Days 31–90: Rebuild production schedules to align with inventory targets, tighten cycle counts, and launch a focused QEK wave on top OEE losses.
- Days 91–180: Commission planned equipment and layout changes with contractors, lock in standard work and control plans, and embed a recurring root-cause cadence.
Scope of ownership
- Direct Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Material Handling across both sites.
- Lead the safety program: committee engagement, root cause and corrective action, and statutory training.
- Build and monitor ERP-driven schedules that track to demand and inventory goals.
- Drive OEE to improve OTD and plant output while managing variable labor and operating expenses on the P&L.
- Oversee shipping/receiving, inventory management (including cycle counts), and maintenance of material handling equipment.
- Coordinate equipment installations and facility layout initiatives; manage on-site and contractor resources to timeline.
- Audit and enforce standard work and process control plans; reduce defects and COPQ.
- Review quality metrics with plant leaders; implement effective corrective actions.
- Evaluate and adjust staffing levels; develop Supervisors, Leads, and hourly team members.
- Design operator upskilling programs with subject-matter experts.
- Advance Lean, 6S, visual factory, and Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK).
- Stay fluent in modern operations methods and translate them into everyday practice.
- Collaborate across functions to support change; communicate timelines and deliverables.
- Uphold requirements for quality management, health & safety, environmental policy, legal compliance, and company ethics.

Experience that fits
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in manufacturing supervision/leadership
- Metal stamping and fabrication background preferred
- Applied Lean manufacturing expertise
- P&L ownership with measurable results
- Quality systems knowledge (ISO 9001:2015 preferred)
- Advanced Excel and ERP reporting proficiency
- Proven ERP-based scheduling capability
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
