About us:

Based in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. SPT Labtech makes products that transform the way scientists work. For decades, our expert scientists, engineers and business innovators have provided scientists with world-leading, innovative solutions for liquid handling, sample preparation, and sample management that help accelerate research and make a real difference to human health. We work collaboratively with our customers, building trusted relationships that enable us to deliver exceptional, personalized experiences designed for real-world challenges in the lab.

Want to be part of a team that's truly making a difference?

About the role:

Working remotely, you will be enthusiastic, committed and ready to take responsibility for coordinating and managing your own time to ensure emergency/preventive maintenance service calls are prioritized and followed through to completion. Excellent customer facing skills are required.

While the primary area served by this new position will be the West Coast region, successful candidates will be expected to travel on occasion to cover for our other regions across the US. Candidates should anticipate on average, about 50% overnight travel. On occasion this role may need to provide coverage for more extended periods in other US territories. Proximity to a major airport will be considered a plus. International travel will be required for training purposes.

This vacancy presents an opportunity to provide on-site support for an exciting range of new products and will therefore best suit candidates seeking varied, challenging and stimulating work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and performing territory service work such as on-site installation and preventative maintenance.
  • Performing emergency service (territory) repair visits.
  • Providing remote telephone assistance.
  • Being available to travel at short notice in order to support other Field Service Engineers when needed.
  • Timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Communicating any product quality issues to the appropriate persons.
  • Working closely with Territory Sales personnel and Field Applications Specialists.
  • Responsible for account management, ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction.
  • Obtaining and communicating leads, identifying post-instrument sales, upgrades, and consumables.

Beneficial Skills/Experience

  • Previous Experience with electro-mechanical and automated systems, ideally within the pharmaceutical/healthcare sectors.
  • Previous experience of working with Liquid Handling products would be advantageous.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to workload.
  • Education equivalent of at least an associate's degree or previous experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated, team player.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.
  • Valid Passport.

Our commitment to you:

You'll be working with talented professionals in a motivated and driven team.

We offer a competitive salary package with a comprehensive, valued benefits package.

We embrace diversity and inclusivity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or family status. We prioritize supporting our employees' diverse needs as we strive for excellence together.

If the above resonates with you, apply with an up-to-date Resume and be a part of our journey to reshape the future of science.

We will provide full product training for the successful candidate which will take place in the US and at our headquarters in Cambridge, UK.
