Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery RN

Location: Corpus Christi, TX (On-site)

Employment: Full-Time
Salary Range: $40 - $51 per hour based on leadership experience

Position Overview

Join our dedicated Maternal Child Health team as the Nurse Manager overseeing a 27-bed Labor & Delivery, OB Emergency Department (OBED), and Surgical Suite unit. Reporting directly to the Director, you will lead an 80-FTE team to deliver exceptional, evidence-based care in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 leadership and managerial oversight of the unit's day-to-day clinical operations-including scheduling, performance management, and quality assurance
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, state, and federal regulatory standards; develop and sustain policies and procedures that support safe, reliable care delivery
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate nursing staff; address performance issues in a timely and respectful manner
  • Collaborate with OB/GYN providers, anesthesiologists, neonatal and surgical teams to optimize patient flow and clinical outcomes
  • Manage departmental budgets, control labor costs and supply usage, and report directly to the Director
  • Serve as the on-call manager for PP/AP/LD every third week-available by phone for urgent escalations or emergency notifications

Required Qualifications

  • RN licensure (Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; BSN preferred)
  • 1+ years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in a Labor & Delivery environment
  • Current BLS certification; OB-specific certifications (e.g., RNC-OB, NRP) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate highperforming teams, drive quality initiatives, and manage change in a fast-paced clinical setting
