Job description

Overview

We are designing the grid of the future! 

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, Data Center at Electric Power Engineers (EPE), you will lead the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of mission-critical electrical systems for hyperscale data centers. Your work will directly safeguard uptime, optimize efficiency, and maintainthe highest safety standards across EPE's fastgrowing global portfolio.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

  • Engineer medium and lowvoltage power distribution, UPS and generator backup, and emergency power systems for highdensity loads.
  • Produce and review oneline diagrams, schematics, Bills of Materials, and installation drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
  • Work closely with mechanical, civil, controls, and IT teams to define project requirements, design criteria, and budgets.
  • Provide technical leadership during design reviews, valueengineering sessions, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and onsite inspections.
  • Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure
Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what's needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10+years of progressive experience in datacenter or other missioncritical electrical design; active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Master is preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of powerdistribution architecture, UPS/generator systems, grounding/bonding, and protectivedevice coordination for 20MW facilities.
  • Demonstrated success delivering datacenter projects from concept through commissioning, including field construction support.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards
