Required License/Registration/Certification
Must meet requirements for Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) / Alternate Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO) in at least one modality as defined by US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations in 10 CFR 35 within 2 years.
Physical Requirements
Lifting objects >50lbs, Overhead reaching, bending, walking for long periods of time and in repetition, data entry, wearing Lead Apparel for long periods of time, driving to off-site UKHC locations and affiliations.
Shift
Monday - Friday Days. Some weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays as needed. Share on-call responsibilities with other team members.
Job Summary
UK HealthCare is seeking an Associate Radiation Safety Officer to support our growing HealthCare radiation safety program. The successful candidate should be eligible to complete NRC requirements (10 CFR 35) to be listed as an ARSO in at least one modality within 2 years. This position will have supervisory responsibilities and will be expected to execute the day to day management of key program areas as designated by the UKHC RSO. Certification or eligibility for certification by ABHP or ABMP is desirable.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Management and Supervision, MS Office radiation detection instrumentation, radiation dosimetry, strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Education/Experience
Masters Degree in Medical Physics, Health Physics or Radiological Science is preferred with experience in the medical field. Certification by ABMP, ABHP or equivalent is desirable.
