Job description

Relocation assistance is provided! Summary: Our award-winning client is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the manufacturing of pulp and paper products. This involves applying chemical engineering principles to analyze, plan, and control production processes, as well as maintaining and enhancing critical chemical plant equipment. You will contribute to process improvements, drive safety initiatives, and support the continuous advancement of our operations. Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on the design and optimization of plant equipment and processes for pulp and paper production.
  • Support and oversee the operation of commercial-scale chemical processes.
  • Assist in environmental projects, including effluent treatment and air quality studies.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, encompassing chemical, mechanical, and new technology integration.
  • Champion best practices in operational safety for all personnel.
  • Analyze data, conduct process change evaluations, and research new equipment.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and training materials.
  • Provide essential engineering support across departments.
  • Actively contribute to achieving mill and department goals in safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and productivity.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
  • Demonstrated work experience in a related field.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, capable of influencing all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and quick to learn, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry, particularly with environmental aspects, is a plus.
  • A collaborative team player with a strong affinity for manufacturing environments.
