Project Coordinator | SCM, Inc.

Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 / year (Negotiable based on experience)
Location: Hyattsville, MD / Office & Field Sites
Experience: 3+ Years Relevant Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (Construction or Business)

Job Overview

SCM, Inc. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to ensure the smooth execution of our construction projects. You will serve as the central hub of communication, managing the flow of information between contractors, suppliers, clients, and our internal management team from planning through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate RFI logs, permits, contracts, change orders, and project drawings.

  • Logistics Coordination: Manage site access, material deliveries, and scheduling for subcontractors and staff across multiple projects.

  • Compliance & Payroll: Assist in managing and tracking certified payroll for state agencies and ensuring all documents meet regulatory standards.

  • Procurement: Work with vendors to obtain cost-effective pricing; manage inventory and verify deliveries.

  • Project Support: Facilitate meetings, draft kickoff/weekly minutes, and support the subcontracting and purchase order (PO) process.

  • Reporting: Communicate daily progress and escalate site issues or safety violations to management immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in a construction coordination or highly relevant administrative role.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical documents and interpreting project plans.

  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for estimating, scheduling, and troubleshooting complex site issues.

  • Mobility: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Physical stamina for occasional heavy labor or site walkthroughs as needed.
