Description: The Corporate Procurement Specialist provides essential tactical procurement support to PVS business units by performing a variety of procurement responsibilities including negotiation and purchase of MRO, supply materials, services, conducting RFQs, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely and accurate execution of day-to-day purchasing activities. This role focuses on transactional efficiency, data accuracy, and responsive supplier coordination in support of corporate and site-level needs.
Primary Responsibilities (May include but not limited to):
  • Develop a collaborative business relationship with appropriate business unit personnel including individual site procurement leads.
  • Negotiate and manage Corporate contracts on behalf of the organization. (i.e. Grainger, Quill, tires, uniforms, security, hoses, etc...)
    • Support contract administration, tracking key dates and maintaining documentation.
    • Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure that business units and vendors comply with the terms and conditions of the contract, and track contract expiration dates.
  • Respond to site-level procurement inquiries and provide day-to-day support.
  • Conduct RFQs, gather supplier quotes, and prepare comparison summaries through analysis and provide recommendations.
    • Analyze vendor price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine competitive pricing and financial solvency.
  • Maintain vendor records and assist with supplier onboarding, issue escalation and compliance.
  • Assist with spend data collection, analysis preparation, and reporting as well as support Corporate Logistics Team members including rail rate management.
  • Upholds the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles. Environmental Health, Safety and Security are the responsibility of every PVS Employee.
  • Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Works collectively with all levels of the organization with a focus on "We", not "I".

Education, Experience and Critical Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree required; experience may substitute.
  • 3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience (Manufacturing or Chemical industry a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in negotiations.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work.

Location: Position based in PVS Corporate Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan with a hybrid weekly work schedule and reports directly to the Corporate Director of Logistics.
