Job description

Position Description This is a Full-Time Non-Civil Service position with medical, dental, pension, and other insurance benefits. The position is under the direct supervision of the Early Childhood Center Manager and with general operating responsibilities to the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Coordinator. Must be familiar with all aspects of the Early Head Start program plans, policies, procedures, philosophy, and goals of the program in order to help parents become active advocates for their children.

Must uphold the mission, vision, and core values of Metropolitan Action Commission including exemplary internal and external customer service, teamwork, and treatment of all persons with respect, dignity, and compassion. ***Extensive Background Checks and random drug tests are performed on applicants for this position with MAC. Work Hours: 7am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday Typical Duties Ensure maximum enrollment by utilization of all conceivable means of recruitment Work with individual families to encourage, motivate, and assist the family in its own effort to improve the conditions and quality of family life Assist families in carrying out health referrals and other social service recommendations Maintain a concise up-to-date family service record on each assigned Early Head Start student Make home visits Serve as a liaison between the Early Head Start family and the Early Head Start Center Promote parent involvement in ALL facets of the Early Head Start program Attend meetings and complete required training Demonstrate positive and professional work habits Assist with other position related duties as requested by supervisor Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited college or university.
