Location: On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia
Your Day to Day as a Materials Procurement Engineer:
  • Support NOG-L production through interface and coordination with key NOG-L material suppliers.
  • Author technical work packages based on customer requirements and provide them to suppliers.
  • Lead and participate in NOG-L's efforts to investigate and resolve technical and product issues for suppliers.
  • Lead and participate in surveillances of key material suppliers, in support of the NOG-L mission to find potential issues and prevent errors. Surveillances will be technical and compliance-based in nature.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Quality, and Management to address issues jointly.
  • Other duties supporting the group/mission, such as trending, metric development, etc.
  • Travel is expected with 10-15% of activities occurring onsite at supplier sites.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering, or equivalent field is required (Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Materials Science preferred.)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with suppliers in the nuclear industry and familiarity with manufacturing processes is desired.
  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and must be able to work well with all levels internally and with suppliers.
  • Must be able to travel to supplier sites.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOE Clearance.

Pay: $75,180 - $139,620
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,180 and $139,620 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
