Industrial Maintenance Technician

Requisition: 1508486
Location: Georgetown, KY
Travel: Up to 50%, including Canada, Mexico, and Japan
Overtime: Typically 20%, potentially up to 30%

Position Summary

seeking a hands-on Assembly Seibi Technician to support the installation, commissioning, startup, modification, and troubleshooting of Final Assembly equipment and control systems.

The technician will review equipment designs, participate in vendor buyoffs, oversee equipment installation, troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, support vehicle trials, and train plant maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical and electrical drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Conduct vendor equipment buyoffs.
  • Install, commission, start up, and modify assembly equipment.
  • Verify equipment safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, electrical circuits, and industrial control systems.
  • Program or troubleshoot Toyopuc and Allen-Bradley controllers.
  • Perform equipment trials, adjustments, torque checks, and vacuum-profile testing.
  • Oversee vendor installation work and facilitate the kanban process.
  • Train maintenance and production employees on newly installed equipment.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for hands-on project support.
Required Qualifications
  • At least two years of PLC programming or troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Toyopuc
    • Allen-Bradley
    • Siemens
    • Omron
    • Mitsubishi
  • At least two years of experience with electrical circuits and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Two-year technical degree, trade-school training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work overtime.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on industrial work.
Preferred Experience
  • Industrial maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
  • Automotive manufacturing or assembly.
  • Industrial robot programming and teaching.
  • AGV or AMR setup and programming.
  • Safety scanners and machine-safety devices.
  • EtherNet/IP, FL-net, Profinet, or other industrial networks.
  • Equipment installation, commissioning, launch, or vendor buyoff experience.
Best Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will probably be an industrial maintenance technician, controls technician, automation technician, or assembly equipment technician with solid PLC troubleshooting experience. Toyota needs someone who can work directly on the equipment—not someone whose background is primarily engineering design or desk-based PLC programming.
