Job description

 Inbound Sales Specialist Mosquito & Pest Authority | Richmond, VA | Full-Time | On-Site
You close. We send the leads.
Mosquito & Pest Authority is one of Richmond’s fastest-growing pest and mosquito control operations, and our phones ring because customers are already sold on the category — they just need the right person to convert that interest into a scheduled service.
That person is you, if you know how to run a consultative sales call, think in systems, and treat a technician’s route like a puzzle worth solving.
This is not a cold-call seat. Every inquiry is inbound. Your job is to convert, schedule, and optimize — and to do it consistently enough that your bonus check is bigger than your base.

What You’ll Own

You are the first voice a customer hears and the last line of defense before a technician hits the road. In practice, that means:

  •  Converting inbound calls and web inquiries into booked pest and mosquito services using a consultative approach — not a script
  • Guiding customers through treatment plan options (recurring programs, one-time treatments, bundled services) and identifying upsell opportunities that genuinely fit their situation
  • Building and optimizing technician routes in Field Routes to maximize daily stop density and minimize drive time
  • Maintaining clean, accurate customer records so the field team never walks into a service blind
  • Hitting weekly and monthly conversion and revenue targets — and knowing your numbers well enough to self-correct before a manager has to.

✅ Who You Are

You have done this before, or something close enough that the transition is obvious. Specifically:

• You have proven inbound sales experience — you know the difference between order-taking and closing, and you default to the latter

• You have worked in a field service, home service, or trades environment where scheduling and routing are part of the job, not an afterthought

• Field Routes experience is a genuine advantage — candidates who know the platform can be productive in week one

• You are comfortable in a multi-system, multi-priority environment where the phone rings, a route needs adjusting, and a customer has a question — simultaneously

• You hold yourself to a number. You know what your close rate is. You know what your average ticket is. You can talk about both without being asked

Pest control industry experience is preferred but not required. If you have sold home services, HVAC, lawn care, roofing, or any recurring residential service, the translation is direct.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay (Discussed at Interview; above Richmond market median for this role)
  • Monthly bonus tied to conversion rate and revenue - Structured so top performers earn meaningfully above base.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday with seasonal Saturday availability during peak season (April - September)
  • Mosquito and Pest Authority is actively expanding its territory - This role grows with the operation

❤️ Why This Seat, Why Now

Richmond’s mosquito and pest season is expanding — warmer springs and longer summers mean more service months per year and more inbound volume per day. We are building the infrastructure to handle that growth, and the person in this role is central to it. If you want to be the person who runs the front of a growing home-service operation — not just answer phones — this is the right seat.
