Job description

Description:

The Field Service Technician will respond to requests within the United States and abroad for repairs and breakdowns as well as perform routine maintenance and upgrade customer equipment as necessary. When required, will perform duties in various areas of operation with in the Uniloy, Inc. plant located in Tecumseh, Michigan.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality.
  • Assemble and install Retrofit packages and Aftermarket parts.
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair Uniloy equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure, as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
  • Log all services and report progress to management.
  • Utilize and store all equipment properly.
  • Maintain annual OSHA Safety certifications, as required.
  • Effectively write reports associated with field service work, payroll reporting and expense reporting.
  • Cross-train on various types of Uniloy equipment and new technological advances in the Blow Molding industry.
  • Commission new machinery by assembling and putting into production new products sold by Uniloy to customers on a global scale.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain Valid State Issued Driver’s License.
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Field Service Technician relating to Blow Molding equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient with manual and power tools.
  • Familiar with code requirements and company safety regulations.
  • Must maintain a United States Government issued passport and maintain eligibility to secure a travel visa to foreign countries.
  • Maintain valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Previous driving experience required with at least 2 years of a good driving record
  • ACVFD’s Eaton, Siemens, Rockwell, Yaskawa

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Including applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services

  • Ability to give operating instructions
  • Ability to control operations of equipment
  • Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, report and maintenance.

Work Environment: Manufacturing or warehouse environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.
