Job Summary

MRO Support provides system administration and support enabling efficient and effective Meter and Revenue Operations for our Operating Companies. We are responsible for meter head-end systems such as Landis + Gyr Command Center, Silver Spring Networks Utility IQ, Clevest Fieldnet, and other meter data systems such as Oracle's Meter Data Management System and Meter Asset Management Systems. We drive key strategic initiatives that enhance and improve performance of our systems and business processes, enabling AEP to adapt to rapidly changing meter technology. This position will ensure accurate and timely meter data for the following Business Processes: Billing, Meter Asset Management and Financial Reporting, Regulatory obligations, Revenue protection activities, and Mass Meter Installations. Collaborate with our Operating Company customers, C&DS peers and IT partners driving for continuous improvement. This position is responsible for moderately complex requests and issues, conducts end-user training, and takes the lead on small to medium projects of moderate complexity.

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Provide business unit project management and business analysis leadership to MDM and head end system IT projects.
  • Provide training and guidance to lower-level team members.
  • Resolve end users requests and system defects on moderately complex issues.
  • Prioritize and track requests and issues from MRO organizations.
  • Communicate with end users to understand issues and questions on more complex issues, and set expectations of resolution timeframe based on priorities.
  • Generate moderately complex reports.
  • Identify the need for and create documentation to support daily responsibilities or end-user training.
  • Conduct end-user training.
  • Participate in the definition, creation, and ?implementation of business processes (such as billing, meter asset management and financial reporting, regulatory obligations, revenue protection activities, and mass meter installations) or systems enhancements.
  • Perform BU Lead or Product Owner role for small to medium projects of moderate complexity.
  • Define functional requirements.
  • Prioritize requests for enhancements for business initiatives.
  • Develop Business Case documentation to support initiatives and gain approval for business process enhancements.
  • Develop test cases and execute them.
  • Conduct end-user training.

What we're looking for:

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field such as Engineering or Computer Technology, or High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in addition to any years of experience noted above.

Other Must Haves:

  • Travel requirements up to 10% of the time
  • Physical demand level is Sedentary
  • Excels in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills for self and assists others.
  • Demonstrates behavior aligned with AEP Values (Zero Harm, Integrity and Stewardship, Adapt and Achieve, Customer Focus)
  • Demonstrates initiative and a questioning mindset.
  • Advanced competency in PC skills such as Microsoft Office and AEP applications and software. Advanced proficiency in querying languages.
