CNC Technician Level 2 or Sr.

Position Summary
The CNC Technician at Makino will utilize strong mechanical and electrical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC equipment. This role reports directly to the Reginal Customer Support Manager and plays a key part in supporting our customers’ machine tool operations. This position will primarily cover the GA, NC and AL regions with the occasional travel outside the region.


Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tool equipment and controls.
    (Makino provides a company vehicle; gas and travel expenses are covered.)
  • Use online technical documentation, manuals, and vendor resources to research and resolve machine issues.
  • Complete and submit accurate documentation to Makino and customers regarding machine status, repairs, and installations.
  • Perform and promote preventive maintenance on customer equipment and provide after‑sales technical support and training.
  • Maintain an in‑depth understanding of the machine tool industry and the Makino product lines.
  • Participate in training on CNC repair and Makino equipment during onboarding,

Qualifications amp; Skills
  • Direct hands-on experience service, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Makino CNC machine tools is required. Candidates with equivalent experience with other high-end CNC machine tool platforms will also be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency with software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office); role requires regular use of a laptop, smartphone, and various applications.
  • Strong technical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours with travel throughout a regional territory. (Technicians are dispatched from home to customer locations.)
