The Independent Contractor Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of expedited freight throughout regional and long-distance routes. Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company-owned 2025 Ford Transit Cargo Van.
  • Transport expedited freight while meeting all scheduled pickup and delivery appointments.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after every trip.
  • Secure freight using proper cargo securement procedures.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs, proof-of-delivery documentation, and shipment records.
  • Communicate proactively with dispatch, brokers, and customers regarding shipment status.
  • Report delays, accidents, maintenance concerns, or delivery issues immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet ALL of the following qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of verifiable commercial driving experience operating cargo vans, Sprinter vans, Transit vans, box trucks, or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • No preventable accidents within the past three (3) years.
  • No DUI, reckless driving convictions, or major moving violations within the past seven (7) years.
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Successfully pass a pre-contract drug screening and participate in random drug testing when required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using GPS navigation, mobile dispatch applications, and electronic proof-of-delivery systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and complete overnight trips as required.
