The Infrastructure Management Field Technician will provide knowledge and experience for the safe implementation of natural gas projects. The IM Field Technician will operate and maintain equipment, support LNG & CNG delivery and provide top-level customer service. This position will report directly to the Infrastructure Management Supervisor.

Responsibilities for the Infrastructure Management Field Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate company equipment for storing & delivering natural gas to the end user via virtual pipeline & field gas conditioning.
  • Capable of leading rig up, starting up, operating, shutting down, and shutting down each piece of equipment independently.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Knowledge of various control systems installations
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Mechanical rebuild of valves, regulators, and pneumatic & electric actuators, etc.
  • Safely perform assigned tasks within limitations
  • Responsible for all safety policies and procedures
  • Understand applications and limitations of company equipment
  • Set up and move equipment on, and around project locations
  • Perform preventative and corrective mechanical service on company equipment
  • Operate mid to heavy-duty vehicles with trailers
  • Adequately document daily activities including time and fuel tracking
  • Understand company standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Developing a working knowledge of internal policies, government safety, and regulatory standards. Know when and where these policies and standards are applicable and apply them in daily activities and job sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have a DOT medical clearance card and/or CDL preferred.
  • 2 + years in natural gas operations, processing equipment, industrial engines, compressor mechanics, and/or gas compression
  • Knowledge of the LNG & CNG process flow & operations with a complete understanding of process & control theory.
    • This can be applied to the process & control theory for water, oil, natural gas, and/or chemicals
  • Knowledge of equipment & proficiency in operating each piece of equipment.
    • This can be applied to the equipment for water, oil, natural gas, and/or chemicals
  • Experience with field gas conditioning.
    • This means the process of treating natural gas & other combustible gases to make them safe & efficient for use in industrial applications (removes contaminants like water, rust, and heavy hydrocarbons).
  • Obtain Texas Railroad Commission LNG & CNG Certification as the company license requires.
  • Maintain a valid US driver's license & clean driving record to operate vehicles safely and comply with laws and company policies.
  • Mechanically and technically inclined skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to use computer software proficiently (Word, Excel & e-mail) and mobile apps.
  • Able to respond to customers with courtesy and knowledge, in person and telephone, applying good judgment and customer service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any other certifications required by regulations or customers.

Work conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with routine exposure to all weather conditions
  • Work regular hours, overtime and rotating shifts
  • Able to certify and don personal protective equipment, such as a respirator, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily
  • Able to handle emergency situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on occasion
  • Able to respond to call-outs and occasionally return to work while off duty
  • Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT safety-sensitive and other regulatory or customer requirements
