Manager, Organizational Development

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

The Manager of Organizational Development leads the design and execution of strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, build leadership capability, and foster a culture of continuous learning at Covenant Health. This role partners with senior executive leaders and HR to drive talent development, change management, and workforce transformation initiatives aligned with business goals.


  • Lead and develop a team of OD and learning professionals that drive initiatives to strengthen organizational culture, values, and employee experience. 
  • Lead the design and delivery of leadership and employee development learning strategies and programs that support workforce capability building and future readiness.
  • Design and implement enterprise leadership frameworks aligned with business strategy and workforce planning (competencies, behaviors, expectations) 
  • Create blended learning experiences (workshops, coaching, digital, experiential)
  • Develop and operationalize leadership learning programs (new leader, emerging leaders, mid-level, senior leaders) 
  • Design leadership development frameworks and succession planning strategies.
  • Partner with HR on talent reviews, high-potential programs, and career pathways. 
  • Coach and support senior leaders on leadership effectiveness and team dynamics. 
  • Lead, develop and operationalize change management frameworks for continuous process improvement.
  • Build internal capability for managing change across the organization.
  • Support service line growth, care model transformation, and system-wide initiatives.
  • Develop communication strategies tailored to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships (e.g., learning platforms, consultants).
  • Enhance performance management processes aligned with healthcare quality metrics.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness through metrics, feedback, and ROI analysis.

Minimum Education:          

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or related field.

Minimum Experience:         

5–8+ years in Organizational Development, HR, or Talent Management. Experience in healthcare (hospital system, clinic, or healthcare network strongly preferred). Demonstrated success working with executive leaders and multidisciplinary teams. Experience supporting regulatory or accreditation environments (e.g., Joint Commission). Strong understanding of healthcare operations and workforce challenges. Expertise in change management within complex, high-stakes environments. Excellent facilitation skills with both clinical and non-clinical audiences. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Licensure Requirement:      

Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
