Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++) 2
 

Position Summary

Magnetek is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with strong experience in C/C++ development for real-time embedded systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working close to hardware, developing firmware in RTOS and bare-metal environments, and contributing to the design and implementation of high-performance control systems.

Key Responsibilities

·         Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++.

·         Develop applications for real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal embedded platforms.

·         Interface directly with hardware components for system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.

·         Participate in software architecture, code reviews, and product development activities.

·         Troubleshoot and resolve complex embedded software and hardware integration issues.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

·         Strong embedded software development experience using C and C++.

·         Experience developing software in RTOS environments.

·         Hands-on experience with bare-metal firmware development.

·         Understanding of microcontrollers, embedded processors, hardware interfaces, and low-level debugging.

·         Experience with embedded system design, testing, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience with motor control systems, motion control, or industrial automation products.

·         Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) or related power electronics technologies.

·         Experience working with products from manufacturers such as Eaton, Rockwell Automation, Yaskawa, ABB, or similar industrial automation companies.

·         Background in industrial controls, drives, or power conversion systems.

Nice to Have

·         Experience with communication protocols used in industrial environments.

·         Familiarity with firmware optimization, performance tuning, and safety-critical systems.

Exposure to product development within industrial automation, motion control, or power electronics industries.
