Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor Environmental Services (EVS), the Environmental Services (EVS) Technician is responsible for maintaining best in class standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Fulfills the detailed and technical environmental services and is highly knowledgeable in the operation of the equipment used to complete assigned projects. Trained and certified in the proper use of all EVS equipment in order to perform extensive environmental services and detail cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Performs extensive cleaning and sanitization of all high areas front-of-house and back-of-house, which includes cleaning of high walls, ceilings, windows, door panels, sills, and woodwork. Accountable for cleanliness, sanitization, and proper repair of all assigned areas. Responsible for carefully and safely operating all EVS Technician Equipment, including floor care, carpet extraction, and high cleaning of all areas.
2. Maintains all air vents to have proper airflow, and for informational signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV Monitors, and various high decor to be free of dust.
3. Performs floor care on terrazzo, Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT), marble, tile, etc. by safely removing and applying sealer or floor finish. Performs vacuuming, gum removal, and carpet extraction of all common areas.
4. Notifies management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance. Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects and materials. Follows the required procedures for the cleanup of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Enterprise's Exposure Control Plan for Blood-borne Pathogens
5. Assists with promoting brand loyalty by engaging in exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers (i.e. interacting with guests by answering questions, providing information, greeting and assisting guests whenever possible). Displays a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with fellow team members as well as internal and external guests.
6. Keeps all chemicals in assigned areas with proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and ensures all cleaning materials/equipment are utilized per the manufacturer's instructions.

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.

  • Some EVS experience, such as operating cleaning equipment and sanitization is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs.

  • Ability to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties.

  • Must be capable of operating both walk behind and ride-on cleaning equipment such as vacuums, steamers, burnishers, extractors, scrubbers, aerial scissor lift, etc.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision.

  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.

  • Ability to maintain a consistent regular attendance record.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.

  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
