JOB SUMMARY
Ready to bring the energy and keep the good times rolling? As our Security Shift Manager, you aren't just managing a shift-you're the captain of high-stakes fun, safety, and operational excellence! Reporting directly to the Director of Security and Surveillance, you'll lead a top-tier security squad to protect our guests, team members, and high-energy property.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, love delivering 5-star customer service, and take pride in keeping our gaming floor safe, vibrant, and compliant, this is your winning ticket!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the Crew: Supervise, train, mentor, and inspire your team of security professionals. You'll champion talent development, performance management, and keep squad morale high.
  • Keep the Floor Safe & Vibrant: Ensure our facility remains clean, secure, and compliant so patrons and team members can focus on having a blast.
  • Master of Operations: Execute daily security strategies, enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Special Post Orders, and directives set by the Director.
  • Emergency & Incident Boss: Take charge during security alerts, emergencies, routine issues, or internal gaming disputes with calm, decisive leadership.
  • Investigate & Report: Lead investigations on property incidents (including Workers' Comp and General Liability), gather evidence/testimony, review violations, and write up detailed, clear reports.
  • Stand Up for Safety: Represent the property at hearings, provide testimony when called upon, and maintain an eagle-eye view of all safety standards.
  • Financial & Budget Savvy: Help hit departmental financial goals by forecasting shift needs, scheduling smart, controlling expenses, and helping manage the budget.
  • Guest-First Mindset: Deliver high-wattage hospitality! Build rock-solid relationships with guests and coworkers through friendly, professional, and positive interactions.
  • Play by the Rules: Ensure strict compliance with company policies, IT procedures, internal controls, Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) rules, and state/federal regulations.
  • Flexibility & Grit: Thrives under pressure and loves the energy of peak gaming hours-maintaining stellar attendance across nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • And More: Step up to tackle special projects and additional leadership duties whenever duty calls!

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Age Verification: Must be 21 years of age or older to apply and work within the gaming facility.
  • Sharp Analytical Mind: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex regulatory documents, data, and incident details to make sound decisions fast.
  • Cool Under Pressure: Exceptional ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and stay composed in a high-octane, fast-moving gaming environment.
  • Master Communicator: Top-notch verbal and written communication skills for writing reports, briefing teams, and talking with guests.
  • People-First Leader: Proven track record of building positive team dynamics and handling guest interactions with tact, warmth, and professionalism.
  • Licensing Readiness: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license and a Race and Sportsbook Employee License.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ready to rock odd hours, night shifts, weekends, and holidays when the gaming floor is buzzing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven leadership experience in security operations, law enforcement, or a related high-volume field required.
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field preferred.
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, and Security Awareness certifications are strongly preferred.
