Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Profession: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

License: Required

Certifications: ARRT, BLS Certification, Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT)

Must-Have: Experience is required. Must have skills for IV start and EKG.

Description: Client badge is required to be provided by the agency. Certifications required include BLS and either ARRT or NMTCB certification. West Virginia state licensure is necessary. The department has 4 scanners/rooms available. There is no requirement to float or cover any other areas. Common types of imaging/studies performed include cardiac, HIDA, gastric emptying, lung scans, and thyroid uptake. The average number of scans/studies performed daily is 12-15. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech Expanse, and the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) is AGFA IMPAX. Department-specific equipment includes 2 Siemens E-cam and 2 Philips Brightview. There is a lead tech supervising the department. Registered Radiology Assistants are not utilized. There is a radiologist in-house. IV starts are required in this department. Shifts and scheduling are from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and self-scheduling is not allowed. Weekend requirements include being covered by call every 4th weekend. Holiday requirements are not applicable at this time. Call is required one day a week when not on call for the weekend. Black colored scrubs are required, with no embroidery or t-shirts. Jackets must be scrub jackets if needed for warmth. Footwear must not include Crocs with holes or backs out. Department-specific orientation is provided. Cancellation policy includes 2 shifts for a 13-week assignment/extension and 1 shift for less than 13 weeks. Charting is done using the EPIC system.
