Job description

External - Posting Description Electrician - Job #518443 Organization: Generation Department: Coal Operations Work Location: Kingston Fossil Plant, Harriman TN Relocation benefits are not offered. Local candidates may be preferred. Posting Open: 5/28/2026 Posting Close: 6/1/2026 at 11:59 PM EST Salary: $110,345 Duties The major portion of duties as Electrician will be general maintenance and emergency repairs to all main and auxiliary electrical equipment at the plant.

This includes the main generators and exciters, motors, motor controls, oil circuit breakers, disconnects, switchyards, transformers, switchboards, station lighting, cranes, batteries, relays, telephones, air-conditioning equipment, and other pertinent equipment pertaining to the plant, associated buildings including administrative buildings on TVA's property. This work will consist of the dismantling and assembling of equipment, the renewal of parts, and adjustment of controls. A minor portion of time will be spent in connection with infrequent construction work, making up necessary job reports, and periodical checking of general operating conditions of electrical equipment.

As assigned, the incumbent may direct the work of one or more apprentice electricians. May be assigned and will perform other work they are certified/qualified to perform. Qualifications Should have a thorough knowledge of the construction and characteristics of motors, generators, control equipment, oil switches, relays, transformers, batteries, and communication equipment Must be certified as possessing electrical craft journeyman level skills.

This certification for Level II is established by successful completion of Phases 1-4 of Appendices 10 or 11 of the JTP; or through successful completion of a TVA-recognized, DOL-approved craft journeyman electrician apprenticeship program. High school education or equivalent. Must be able to work various schedules and overtime as needed.

Must meet the physical and medical requirements of the job. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and abide by all safety rules and regulatory requirements. Supervision Received Under the direction of a foreman and the indirect supervision by first line supervisor.
