Job description

Job Summary Under direction, interprets data to help organizations make informed decisions. Collects, processes, analyzes, and presents data in a concise format or presentation. Conducts research, analyzes complex statistical data, develops planning timetables, evaluates systems, policies, and procedures, and makes recommendations to achieve goals and objectives.

May exercise functional or technical supervision over assigned staff. This position is funded by sales tax that has been approved by the citizens of San Antonio for a limited time period. This position, therefore, is subject to at-will employment status, and is unclassified and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission.

Work Location Pre-K 4 SA Corporate Office - 3510 S WW White Rd, San Antonio, TX 78222 Work Schedule 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday Essential Job Functions Collects, cleans, and analyzes data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability

Performs data analysis to help identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Applies statistical methods and data modeling techniques to interpret data and make predictions. Compiles and cleans databases and data collection systems for optimal data quality and efficiency.

Designs reporting dashboards to translate data to an understandable, illustrative format to non-technical audiences. Performs basic and advanced statistical analyses with quantitative and qualitative data. Leads collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver relevant data-driven solutions.

Ensures data privacy and security compliance in all data handling and processing activities. Stays updated with the latest data analysis tools, techniques, and industry trends for continuous improvement. Researches technical issues and provides solutions; makes technological recommendations for improvements.

May assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget. Uses findings to make data-driven recommendations for practices, programming, and policies. Prepares and completes ad-hoc reporting requests, summaries, and presentations.

Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Two (2) years of experience in a relevant field, including but not limited to data analysis or statistical modeling Preferred Qualifications Ability to pass a Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) background check. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Prior professional experience working in a school environment. Applicant Information Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months.

One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university. Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.
