Job description

Job Summary

Energo is seeking a positive, goal-oriented Boiler/Burner Technician/Mechanic for Night Shift (4pm to 12am) reporting to the Manager, Mechanical Services.        

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Respond to customer service requests related to mechanical issues with the domestic hot water or heating equipment of their equipment, and work alongside and assist other employees in completing assigned work orders
  • Troubleshoot & repair mechanical heating equipment and their associated systems
  • Troubleshoot & repair electrical wiring, relay logic, safety circuits, electronic boards for boilers and combustion failures
  • Direct hands-on experience and working knowledge in troubleshooting steam, hot water boilers, burners (gas & oil), associated control systems, electrical combustion, heat pumps and associated piping systems
  • Start-up & commission new replacement boiler systems including expansion tanks, pumps etc.
  • Calibrate and adjust burner controls to obtain optimal boiler/burner performance
  • Experience servicing and maintaining gas- and oil-fired burners
  • Experience servicing and maintaining Atmospheric, Condensing and Scotch Marine Fire Tube Boilers
  • Proficiency in boiler/burner controls including Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens Link-ageless, Power Flame, etc.
  • Comprehension of commercial/industrial HVAC building systems such as operating controls, heating controls, oil to gas boiler conversions, boilers, pumps/motors, distributed cooling/heating, replace hot water heaters and radiators
  • Perform boiler cleanings, as necessary
  • Perform diagnostic operations to determine opportunities for improve heating system performance
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and servicing of mechanical heating equipment and their associated systems
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs related to heating equipment and fuel lines
  • Perform tasks, report deficiencies, and maintain and complete daily records of labor and materials used during work tasks
  • Continually communicate with supervisor(s) regarding any apparent operational deficiencies or system malfunctions
  • Process paperwork including but not limited to work orders, inventory, and preventive maintenance forms
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures 100% of the time
  • Collect payments from customers
  • Participate in any required job training and/or certifications and safety meetings
  • Report to work as scheduled with minimal absenteeism or tardiness
