Burn Med/Surg Registered Nurse

At Doctors Hospitals Joseph M. Still Burn Center, our mission is to save lives. Here, we’ve created a compassionate, nurturing environment for both functional and cosmetic burn and wound care.

We treat more than 3,000 burns and wounds annually. With more than three decades of experience treating difficult wounds, skin disorders and burns, our team of highly skilled physicians, nurses and medical staff are prepared to care for even the most complex burns.

Some features of our inpatient and outpatient burn center include:

  • 99 beds dedicated for burn care, including 38 intensive care unit (ICU) beds
  • Eight dedicated operating rooms
  • Level II Trauma Center, verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma
  • Nation’s largest burn center and third largest in the world
  • Verified Adult and Pediatric Burn Center by the American Burn Association (ABA)

We also coordinate educational and community outreach programs, offering professional training and fire prevention awareness to communities worldwide.

As a Burn Unit Registered Nurse (RN), you’ll play a vital role in the healing journey of patients with a variety of burn injuries. With stays ranging from days to weeks, you’ll build meaningful relationships and witness powerful healing journeys. Partnering with a skilled team that’s deeply committed to this unique population, you’ll restore comfort and healing - caring for patients like family and improving lives every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patient condition and environment to recognize changes, manage pain, and ensure safety throughout their care journey
  • Performing expert procedures and medication administration – including pain relief and fluid therapy – delivering advanced wound care and dressing changes, monitoring responses and acting swiftly to promote healing and comfort
  • Educating and supporting patients and families with compassion and clarity to confidently navigate recovery and make informed decisions
  • Collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide seamless, patient-centered care tailored to each individual’s needs

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
