Job description

A Bridge Superintendent oversees all field operations for bridge construction and rehabilitation projects, coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications. They are responsible for maintaining project schedules, enforcing quality and safety standards, resolving field issues, and leading site personnel through all phases of construction. Client Details Our client is a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in bridge construction, rehabilitation, foundations, retaining walls, dams, culverts, structural rehabilitation, and other complex infrastructure projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Founded in 1994, the company has built a reputation for successfully delivering challenging, heavily engineered projects that require innovative construction methods, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety. With extensive experience performing work for transportation agencies, bridge commissions, municipalities, railroads, and private clients, they have completed numerous bridge replacements, rehabilitations, and design-build projects for organizations such as PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, SEPTA, and local government agencies. Description Direct all on-site bridge construction activities from mobilization through project completion.

Develop and implement daily, weekly, and long-range work plans. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors. Monitor productivity and adjust resources to maintain project schedules.

Review project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents. Communicate project expectations to field personnel and subcontractors. Profile 7+ years of bridge construction experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Experience with bridge replacement, rehabilitation, concrete structures, steel erection, foundations, and structural repairs.

Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods and equipment. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites.
