Job Title: Material Handling Operator Maintainer
Location: Jacksonville, FL, 32202
Duration: 6+ Months

Pay Rate: $30.00/hr

Job Description:
The position of Equipment Operator will be tasked with operating heavy, material-moving construction pieces of equipment safely and efficiently at a plant. The work resembles road construction and aggregate plant operations.


Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Equipment Operator include, but not limited to:
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a loader , backhoe, excavator, skid steer and dozer safely and productively
• Ability to work in an area with other heavy equipment and ground personnel while maintaining awareness of surrounding hazards of operation
• Load materials, dig excavations, fill excavations and lift equipment.
• Responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment to perform tasks such as bulldozing, digging, building, and transporting materials.
• Must be able to handle working outside in all types of weather
• Perform daily maintenance on equipment (grease, fuel and check all fuel levels).
• Move dirt, gravel, fill and digs excavation.
• Be aware of wear on parts, or other irregularities, and report it to the supervisor
• Help maintain equipment around the plant
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Safety and Teamwork
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
• Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience preferred
• On the job training with be provided
• Working knowledge and experience with aggregates and heavy equipment
• Dependable and able to follow instructions carefully
• Physically capable of performing manual labor


Working Conditions
• Overtime as required. Nights and weekends are sometimes required.
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Proper PPE is required at all times
