Software Engineer - Full Stack
Overview / Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong full-stack development experience to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and products. This role involves participating across the software development lifecycle, including software architecture, coding, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and implementation of new technologies.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Python, modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and machine learning/artificial intelligence technologies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to understand use cases, pain points, and requirements while advocating for user-centric software solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and deliver software solutions using appropriate tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Assess application or service requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
  • Create high-level software architecture designs outlining application structure, components, and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.
  • Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes.
  • Continuously improve application performance and optimize software solutions.
  • Implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Apply software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Support security practices designed to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
  • Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices, using server-side languages.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver software solutions.
  • Monitor and participate in the development of new technology stack layers.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of IT experience and 4+ years of development experience.
  • Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practical experience in one coding language.
  • Strong full-stack development experience with Python and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and SCSS and experience building responsive web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI.
  • Strong SQL skills, including experience designing and optimizing relational databases.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including GCS, Cloud Run, and Apigee.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
  • Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of web and networking concepts, including HTTP/S, DNS, APIs, load balancing, and security.
  • Experience implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and expert systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site four days per week.
