Job description

TITLE: Functional Lead Test & Release Engineer
DUTIES: Support the virtual testing and release of hardware and software for FCA US LLC's vehicles. Utilize virtual test platforms, including Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulators, in order to test vehicle software and hardware in a virtual environment, for safe and cost-effective testing which mimics real-world conditions. Allowing developers to check that everything in the vehicle works correctly in a controlled setting before using physical prototype vehicles. Act as a functional lead for virtual platform test and release. Interface with the global team which will support all Stellantis applications, utilizing the Agile methodology. Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor within a specific area, guiding projects and initiatives to ensure high-quality outcomes and adherence to best practices. Create and maintain a workflow for automated test execution for the entire IVDO department, including supporting VVPL and running automated nightly tests. Implement automated workflows as continuous testing solutions, using tracetronic ecu.test, tracetronic test.guide, and JetBrains TeamCity toolchain. Develop sanity, smoke, and regression test suites in ecu.test to support standardized test executions with every virtual test platform release. Review test results and implement corrective actions for faulty test cases. Support the standardized setup of SiL solutions and HiL systems before delivery to internal customers. Commission test environments, both virtual and physical. Deploy a quality-assured test environment, including release notes to the testing community. Provide expert guidance, subject matter expertise, and support on projects and initiatives within the designated functional area. Lead specific projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the successful execution of activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality. Act as a mentor and coach to team members, promoting professional growth and skill development. Work collaboratively with other teams to align efforts and achieve common objectives. Communicate project goals, updates, and expectations to team members and stakeholders. Influence decisions related to project execution based on expertise, ensuring informed choices are made.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related and 5 years of experience in job offered or related position in Test & Release. Experience must include: Creating libraries and solutions to enable Test automation at ECU level using Tracetronic ECU-TEST with dSPACE XIL API (or equivalent), including reusable sequences and automated result interpretation. Coordinating Test orchestration at scale using Tracetronic TestGuide (or equivalent) for scheduling, monitoring, and reporting large regression suites. SIL/HIL configuration and operation with dSPACE VEOS and ControlDesk (or equivalent), including rest-bus simulation for CAN and Ethernet using BusManager or similar. Performing AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive, covering ECU configuration, integration, and verification across both stacks. Performing Android Automotive OS (AAOS) validation, including system integration, logging, and debugging on hardware targets and the AAOS emulator. Applying Real-time operating systems with a focus on QNX (or equivalent) for integration and performance debugging. Performing Virtualized execution and debugging using platforms such as QEMU and the AAOS emulator. Performing Structured root-cause analysis using Kepner-Tregoe and Shainin methods.
