Commission Auto Body information

What jobs in the US pay $300,000 a year?

In the auto body industry, highly experienced collision repair shop owners or managers with extensive expertise and a large client base can earn $300,000 or more annually. Typically, such high earnings are associated with business ownership, specialized skills, or working in high-volume, high-end repair facilities. Most auto body technicians and related roles earn less, with top earners reaching this level through entrepreneurship or advanced certifications.

How does commission work in a body shop?

In a commission-based auto body shop, technicians or painters earn a percentage of the repair costs they complete, incentivizing productivity and quality work. The commission rate varies by shop but typically ranges from 20% to 40%, and employees may also receive hourly wages or bonuses. Skills in estimating, repair, and customer service are important in such environments.

What is the highest paying job in auto body?

The highest paying jobs in auto body repair typically include auto body shop owners, collision repair shop managers, and specialized technicians such as auto body estimators or paintless dent repair specialists. These roles often require advanced skills, certifications, and experience, and can earn six-figure incomes depending on location and business size.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A commission auto body technician can potentially earn $10,000 a month through high-volume work, skilled repairs, and strong customer relationships, especially in busy shops or luxury markets. Success depends on experience, reputation, and the ability to secure premium clients, often without formal higher education but with technical training and certifications. Such roles typically require proficiency with repair tools, automotive systems, and excellent customer service skills.
