Job description

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) for a dedicated 6th grader. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering individualized instruction and advocacy in a supportive academic environment near Decatur, GA.

You’ll be instrumental in helping a student reach their full potential by offering targeted, specialized support in line with their educational goals. With a manageable caseload and flexible scheduling (two 30-minute sessions each month), this part-time position offers a rewarding way to make a measurable difference in a young learner’s life while collaborating closely with a passionate school team.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) certification, including a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
  • Previous experience working with students with visual impairments strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of IEP implementation and compliance
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to provide consultative support for assistive technology and accessibility strategies

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, specialized instruction to a 6th-grade student with a visual impairment, tailored to IEP requirements.
