Position Overview

We are seeking an empathetic and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team at Advent Health Counseling Center. Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families, engaging in proactive communication to promote a supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing our comprehensive clinical model and techniques rooted in Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Facilitate Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups, ensuring families feel connected and informed throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established standards for quality care.
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to manage data effectively.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and continuous training to enhance skills and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Independently manage your schedule and caseload to meet the therapeutic goals set for each client.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be focused primarily on working with adolescents and young adults who are navigating various mental health challenges. Common issues faced by our client population include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and family relationship dynamics. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding them toward sustainable healing and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current registration as a Board-registered Associate (e.g., APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT) or eligibility as a Psychologic Associate within the state of New Jersey.
  • Proven experience providing individual, family, or group therapy specifically with adolescent and young adult clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in mental health settings addressing substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed care is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and an ability to implement therapeutic strategies that resonate with a younger demographic.
