At CoreCivic, we do more than manage inmates, we care for people! CoreCivic is currently seeking a Commissary Supervisor who has a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional security setting.
TheCommissary Supervisor directs and coordinates the functions and activities ofthe warehouse and commissary operation. This includes inventory management and the supervision of staff andinmate/resident workers.
  • Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, supervises and directs all aspects of the facility commissary operations. This includes the use of an organized purchasing system in keeping with company policy and procedure; ordering sufficient stock for sale; accurate receipt, routing and storage of goods received in accordance with appropriate sanitation standards and applicable codes.
  • Supervises, trains, motivates and evaluates staff and inmates/residents as prescribed by facility and company policy. This includes dispute resolution, taking corrective or disciplinary action, and developing work schedules.
  • Conducts inspections of work area and equipment for compliance with the requirements of all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and/or health, sanitation and safety laws; reports results of inspections as required; assigns staff and inmate/resident workers as necessary to correct problems and maintain compliance.
  • Communicates effectively with administration, staff, FSC staff, inmates, visitors and vendors, particularly in situations requiring tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment.
  • Prepares and/or directs the preparation and maintenance of a variety of standard operating records and reports, as required; reviews reports and records produced by staff; properly and accurately processes all reports and documents in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Two years commissary or retail experience required.
  • One year supervisory experience preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
