Job description

Description About the Position

The Finance Group at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance and Commercial Transactions Attorney to join our Finance and Business Practice Groups. This position may be based in any of Warner's nine Michigan offices and is ideal for a senior-level attorney who enjoys advising clients on sophisticated financing and commercial transactions while contributing to the continued growth of our practice.

About the Opportunity
  • Represent borrowers and lenders in a wide range of commercial finance and lending transactions, including acquisition finance, asset-based lending, real estate finance, and other secured and unsecured credit facilities
  • Structure, negotiate, and document complex financing transactions and commercial agreements
  • Advise clients on commercial transactions, including supply, service, licensing, and other strategic business agreements
  • Conduct legal due diligence and advise clients on transaction risks and business objectives
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's Business, Real Estate, Tax, and Financial Institutions Practice Groups to provide practical, business-focused legal counsel
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of Warner's Finance practice
About You
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Licensed or willing to become licensed and remain in good standing to practice law in Michigan
  • 8โ€“10+ years of experience representing borrowers, lenders, and commercial clients in sophisticated finance and commercial transactions
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating credit facilities, security agreements, loan documents, and other complex commercial agreements
  • A portable book of business is required
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex matters, build trusted client relationships, and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, responsiveness, and client service skills
