Job description

Salary: Starting $20+ or DOE

Job Title: Oregon Certified Asbestos Abatement Worker


Location: Salem, OR | Job Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $20$26/hour DOE


Position Summary
We are seeking a safety-conscious, Oregon DEQ-Certified Asbestos Abatement Worker to join
our environmental remediation team. You will be responsible for the setup, removal, and disposal
of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role
requires a high level of physical stamina, strict adherence to state and federal safety protocols, and
a commitment to protecting both the public and our team.


Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation: Build containment areas using 6-mil poly sheeting, establish negative air
pressure systems, and set up decontamination units according to DEQ/OSHA standards.
Abatement: Safely remove friable and non-friable ACM (including pipe insulation, surfacing
materials, and floor/ceiling tiles) using wet-method techniques.
Waste Management: Properly package, label, and transport asbestos waste for disposal at
approved landfills.
Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean-shaven face for daily respirator fit; wear and maintain
all required PPE (half-face, full-face, or PAPR).
Qualifications & Requirements
Certification: Must possess or be able to obtain a current Oregon DEQ Asbestos Worker
Certification (or Supervisor Certification).
Compliance: Must be able to have a medical surveillance clearance and be fit-test ready.
Experience: [1+ year] of experience in friable asbestos abatement preferred, but we will
consider newly certified individuals with a strong work ethic.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces or at heights, and
wear a respirator/protective suit for extended periods in varying temperatures.
