Job description

We are hiring an Associate Attorney with a required 4+ years of experience in Business and Commercial Litigation for downtown Houston Law Firm. Trial experience preferred.

Our firm was founded on a philosophy of building strong relationships with our clients. That philosophy has resulted in our steady growth since the firm began in 1995.
The Firm represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of commercial matters, including corporations, labor and employment, business, energy, oil and gas, probate and trust, real estate, and bankruptcy in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediation with witness responsibility
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

​​Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar and in good standing.
  • Previous experience in a Law Firm environment
  • Ability to take and defend depositions
  • Familiarity with various legal documents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
