Note: An active Florida Bar license and 1+ year of litigation experience are required. Georgia Bar membership and 2+ years of civil litigation experience are preferred, but not required. Former public defenders with meaningful trial experience and a genuine interest in civil litigation are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

  • Handle employment law matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contractual disputes, and related claims.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal writing, motions, briefs, and other case materials.
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each client's circumstances through regular and meaningful client communication.
  • Gather, analyze, and master the facts needed to build effective litigation strategies.
  • Assist with commercial litigation and class action matters as opportunities arise.
  • Collaborate with the team on case strategy, discovery, negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Prepare matters thoroughly with the mindset that every case should be ready for trial.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar is required.
  • 1+ year of litigation experience is required.
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience is preferred.
  • Georgia Bar membership is preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients and developing a detailed understanding of their cases.
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, judgment, and organizational skills.
  • Former public defenders with trial experience and a strong interest in civil litigation are encouraged to apply.
  • Willingness to work from the Atlanta office at least 3 days per week.
