They investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlements for claims arising from lawsuits, often working closely with legal teams, policyholders, and third parties. Their main goal is to resolve claims efficiently and fairly while minimizing financial exposure for the insurance company. These adjusters need strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of commercial insurance policies and legal processes.

How does a commercial litigation adjuster typically collaborate with legal teams and other departments during the claims process?

A Commercial Litigation Adjuster works closely with in-house counsel, external attorneys, and various internal departments such as underwriting and risk management. • Flag stalled cases, missing documents, or approaching deadlines (e.g., statute of limitations).
  • Maintain and update the case management system to reflect current case status.
  • Coordinate the smooth handoff of accepted cases to the assigned legal team.

Key Characteristics

  • Results-driven with a focus on client care.

Required Experience
  • High school diploma required; some college experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with Outlook, Filevine, or similar case management software.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong phone etiquette.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
