Headquartered in Louisiana, Ratcliff Construction Company, LLC is looking for an experienced, driven Commercial Estimator to help pursue and secure commercial construction projects across Louisiana. You’ll take ownership of the estimating process from early concept through project award, developing accurate estimates and budgets across hard bid, negotiated, and CMAR projects while analyzing scope and risk, managing trade partner coverage, and setting our project teams up for successful execution.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage commercial estimates from initial setup through final bid submission
  • Develop accurate cost estimates from initial concept through final construction documents
  • Analyze plans, specifications, addenda, and contract documents for complete scope coverage
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate cost estimates
  • Identify scope gaps, pricing exposures, and potential project risks before they become problems
  • Solicit and manage subcontractor and supplier participation and analyze bid-day pricing
  • Estimate general conditions and self-performed scopes of work
  • Play a key role in the proposal and pursuit process, partnering with our Business Development team on proposals, presentations, interviews, and pursuit strategy
  • Build strong relationships with trade partners, owners, architects, engineers, and project teams
  • Provide estimating support after project award to help maintain alignment with the original estimate, budget, and schedule
What we're looking for:
  • An experienced commercial construction Estimator with 3+ years of estimating experience
  • Experienced in independently managing estimates from setup through bid submission
  • Knowledgeable in commercial construction costs, CSI divisions, trade scopes, and estimating practices
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate scope and cost issues before bid day
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable working under deadlines
  • A strong communicator who can build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and design teams
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel; experience with CMiC, On Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, P6, and/or Microsoft Project is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent commercial construction estimating experience will also be considered
