Commercial Auto Program Analyst:

The Commercial Auto Program Analyst supports the operations, management, performance, and expansion of Commercial Auto insurance programs within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry. This role works closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, Regulatory, Compliance, Operations, and distribution partners to support the development and execution of Commercial Auto programs across multiple states.

The analyst will play a key role in product and rate filing support, rate and portfolio analysis, state expansion initiatives, program implementation, and ongoing program management. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and an understanding of Commercial Auto underwriting, pricing, regulatory requirements, and insurance program operations.

Working within a large global insurer, this role will help ensure that Commercial Auto programs are competitively priced, operationally effective, compliant with state regulations, and positioned for profitable growth.


Responsibilities:

Commercial Auto Program Operations & Management

  • Support the day-to-day management and administration of Commercial Auto insurance programs, including program implementation, operational processes, documentation, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Operations, Claims, Compliance, Regulatory, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure effective program execution.
  • Monitor program performance, identify operational issues and opportunities, and support implementation of process improvements.
  • Maintain program documentation, guidelines, procedures, and operating materials to ensure consistency across states and business units.
  • Support program governance, reporting, performance reviews, and management presentations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of underwriting guidelines, eligibility requirements, program rules, and other program specifications.

Product & Rate Filing Support

  • Support the preparation, coordination, and submission of Commercial Auto product, rule, and rate filings across multiple states.
  • Coordinate with Product, Actuarial, Regulatory, Compliance, and Legal teams to gather filing requirements, supporting documentation, and state-specific information.
  • Track filing status, regulatory questions, approvals, and implementation requirements to ensure timely execution.
  • Assist in maintaining state-specific product, rate, rule, and underwriting documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and state requirements that may impact Commercial Auto products, rates, forms, or underwriting practices.
  • Support implementation of approved rate and product changes into underwriting and operational systems.

Rate & Portfolio Analysis

  • Analyze Commercial Auto rates, premiums, exposures, loss experience, and portfolio performance to support pricing and underwriting decisions.
  • Perform rate adequacy and rate level analysis, including analysis of loss trends, frequency, severity, exposure changes, and other key performance indicators.
  • Compare current and proposed rates and identify opportunities for rate refinement or segmentation.
  • Support analysis of rate indications, rate changes, and pricing strategies in partnership with Actuarial and Product teams.
  • Monitor portfolio performance by state, class, vehicle type, account segment, and other relevant dimensions.
