Job description

Commercial Litigation Associate


An established Atlanta law firm is seeking a second- or third-year associate to join its commercial litigation team.


This opportunity offers the chance to handle sophisticated litigation while learning from highly respected attorneys who are committed to mentoring and developing more junior lawyers. The firm combines challenging, substantive work with a collaborative culture and a reasonable billable-hours requirement.


The associate will take an active role in matters from discovery through trial preparation, with opportunities to:

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and substantive motions
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Appear at hearings and other court proceedings
  • Communicate directly with clients
  • Manage document review and complex discovery
  • Assist with trial preparation
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other members of the legal team


Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Georgia
  • At least two years of litigation experience
  • Experience taking depositions and appearing in court
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment and client communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach


Experience in commercial litigation, labor and employment, or a related practice area is preferred.
