We are seeking an outstanding mid to senior-level Corporate Associate to join their national team of experts. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a collegial group while honing your skills across a diverse array of corporate transactions. The successful candidate will primarily focus on corporate and energy law, emphasizing mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance, and strategic transactions such as joint ventures, partnerships, and significant investments. This position provides an excellent opportunity for long-term career advancement.


Qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of post-call experience (2024 - 2021 call) in general corporate commercial and transactional law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, plans of arrangement, and amalgamations.
  • Proficient in franchise and securities law, company organization, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance, as well as shareholder matters.
  • Proven track record of collaborating with corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions on both negotiated and contested mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, independent committee engagements, and defense preparations.
  • Must possess strong technical legal expertise, exceptional business acumen, and outstanding analytical and drafting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service abilities, with a proactive approach and a capacity to thrive in diverse team environments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, adept at managing multiple time-sensitive priorities.
  • Above average academic credentials
  • Qualified to practice law in Canada.
