Job description

SMX is seeking BLUEFOR Exercise Planners to support US Space Forces Indo-Pacific (SFI). As an Exercise Planner you will provide high-level subject matter expertise to lead the integration of space domain effects for Blue Forces into theater-level exercises.

This position requires a current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI which requires US citizenship.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate all phases of the exercise planning cycle, from concept development to exercise execution, ensuring a robust exercise framework.
  • Develop Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL) focused on SFI executing its role as the Theater Joint Functional Space Component Command into each exercise's Blue Order of Battle.
  • Responsible to act as ECG member or white cell member for exercises they planned to ensure their MSEL objectives are met.
  • Post-Exercise Analysis: Author After-Action Reports (AAR) to identify and address capability gaps in space-integrated command, control, and communications.

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Must have current DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with allies and partner nations, including their respective commands.
  • Highly organized as all focus areas require tracking multiple processes, maintaining a large amount of data, and creating and maintaining multiple products for multiple countries simultaneously.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer focused.
  • Capacity to learn new systems rapidly and adapt quickly to change.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products.
