SOC Duty Manager Overview:

Sun Country Airlines is seeking a SOC Duty Manager to be responsible for managing the System Operations Center to ensure operations are conducted in a safe, coordinated, and cohesive fashion, while maintaining full compliance with applicable government regulations, labor contracts, and company policies & procedures.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively and effectively manage the daily flight operations within the System Operations Control Center to ensure the daily operations are conducted in the most efficient manner, while ensuring safety and compliance requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize utilization of our fleet and synergistic lines of business by coordinating with Crew Services, Dispatch, Maintenance Control, Maintenance Planning, Charters, and other stakeholders on cancellations, consolidations, special stops, delays, ferry flights, and other matters of day-to-day operations.
  • Provide the tactical operational oversight necessary to achieve company determined safety, on time performance, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor the short-term schedule to verify that the aircraft are routed in an efficient and effective manner based on route requirements and technical operation’s needs.
  • Develop and implement disruption recovery plans during abnormal operations and delay situations, which are focused on safety, customer needs, and customer satisfaction.
  • Process daily operation reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all delay checklists.
  • Communicate and coordinate operational irregularities to appropriate departments.
  • Facilitate daily and irregular operation calls when appropriate.
  • Seek availability of carriers to provide sub-service when necessary; updates and maintains sub-service database.
  • Assist sales with flight times, performance, aircraft/crew routings, flight numbering, and customer contact and flight coordination.
  • Primary liaison to charter operators and government agencies regarding aircraft delays.
  • Demonstrate solid leadership skills in a fast-paced environment by remaining focused, calm, and even-tempered. 
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of airline operations experience
  • Previous SOC experience (Duty Manager, Dispatcher, Crew Schedule Supervisor)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in stressful situations
  • Superior multi-tasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field  

Compensation:

Pay range: $72,000 - $78,000 USD annually. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.
