At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Center Ops Specialist, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Data Center Ops Specialist joining our team to support Government activities, solve complex IT issues and provide exceptional customer service.

HOW DATA CENTER OPERATIONS SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues within the datacenter.
  • Install and maintain data center server hardware, including storage blocks, servers, patch panels, switches, routers, and other large scale networking gear.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line to assist with troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to get to the datacenter during off hours.
  • Available for shift work
  • Participate in disaster recovery mock drills and procedures.
  • Provide cleared escort as needed to personnel who need access for maintenance, inspection, and other needs.
  • Light shipping and receiving.
  • Eligible for relocation.
  • Eligible for a sign on bonus.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelors (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline)
  • Required Experience: 8+ years
  • Required Technical Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, a related
  • technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in working with computer systems and computer
  • networks, specifically with the Linux operating system
  • Ability to do physical work (lift servers, network switches, boxes etc.)
  • Required Certification:
  • Any 8140 certification, or must be willing to obtain and maintain
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable
  • Experience with field-based work in POPs and datacenters
  • Experience in troubleshooting OS, network equipment, and software
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware or network related issues using Linux-based tools
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with active polygraph
  • Location: On Customer Site - Aurora, CO
