More about the role:

  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, as well as sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
  • Conduct a thorough review of the patientโ€™s health history in order to provide quality care
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
  • Provide superior chairside assistance (i.e., four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
  • Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Required Clinical & Technical Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • State DA Credentials
  • X-Ray Credentials
  • CPR Credentails
  • Completed 30 FMX & 30 Temporary Crowns
  • Infection Control & Compliance: Knowledgeable in OSHA, HIPAA, CDC guidelines, sterilization protocols, and maintaining a safe patient care environment.
  • Patient Experience & Compassionate Care: Creates a warm, reassuring environment that helps reduce patient anxiety and supports a positive experience for nervous or dental-phobic patients.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Brings a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented approach to building trust with providers, teammates, and patients.

Preferred Experience:

  • Digital Dentistry & Technology: Proficient with iTero scanning, digital radiographs, intraoral cameras, and Dentrix practice management software.
  • Restorative & Specialty Procedures: Skilled in temporary crown fabrication, Invisalign attachment placement, denture fabrication/adjustments, and assisting with restorative procedures.
  • Chairside Assisting: Experienced in four-handed dentistry, treatment preparation, procedure support, and maintaining efficient clinical workflows.
  • Surgical & Advanced Dentistry: Knowledgeable in oral surgery, endodontics, dental implant workflows, and specialty procedure support.

  • Provider Support & Clinical Awareness: Anticipates provider needs by understanding clinical workflows and proactively preparing instruments, materials, and treatment areas.
  • Efficiency & Multitasking: Thrives in fast-paced environments by effectively managing patient flow, operatory turnover, sterilization, and chairside assisting responsibilities.
  • Initiative & Team Support: Demonstrates a proactive, solutions-focused mindset that improves team efficiency and supports smooth daily operations.

Compliance & Confidentiality:

  • The position will have access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training, aligning with the specific role and responsibilities, will be required; and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year 

TB Test Requirement: 

  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
