The Proposal Writer will be responsible for planning, developing, and submitting proposals for new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with client specifications and organizational goals. This role will collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to gather information, create persuasive proposals, and manage the proposal lifecycle for company response to ensure timely and high-quality submissions. The Proposal Writer will also track proposal outcomes and contribute to refining the proposal process for continuous improvement.

How YOU can Make an Impact:
  • Track and monitor correctional healthcare RFP releases, ensuring company consideration of new business opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and marketing materials, working with cross-functional teams to gather technical data and compose content.
  • Draft proposal templates from client RFPs, ensuring alignment with requirements.
  • Manage communication with agencies during the proposal process, including submitting questions and addressing clarifications.
  • Produce and maintain proposal-related documents, including covers, table of contents, appendices, and resumes, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and formatted correctly.
  • Maintain a library of reusable proposal materials, migrating content between the library and active proposals.
  • Track proposal and past-performance activities using a master spreadsheet.
  • Ensure proposal documents are formatted and proofed, including copyediting and ensuring the content is error-free and professionally presented.
  • Assist with physical and electronic production of documents, ensuring timely delivery and submission (including electronic uploads).
  • Update and maintain proposal calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and all activities are tracked.
  • Evaluate and summarize RFPs, assisting in the companyโ€™s decision to submit a proposal.
  • Research business development opportunities, track RFPs and assist in identifying new prospects for growth.
  • Maintain record of each RFP opportunity and submission in Salesforce.
  • Assist in strategic growth initiatives, contributing to the firmโ€™s objectives and long-term goals.
  • Conduct research on client health needs, including industry trends and community resources, to inform proposal content.
  • Review and understand client challenges, such as consent decrees and legal actions that may affect healthcare service delivery.
  • Assist with special projects and content development as needed.
  • Coordinate attendance and preparation for pre-bid conferences and support MEDIKOโ€™s participation in industry events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What we Ask of YOU:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Sales, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline) from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training may be required depending on the function (e.g., NCCHC Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP), Certified Human Resources Professional (PHR) for HR roles, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for Finance roles, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the specific functional area (e.g., Proposal Writing, HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.).
  • Experience in healthcare, correctional healthcare, or a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in applying function-specific skills (e.g., proposal writing, employee relations for HR, financial reporting for Finance, or sales strategy for Sales) is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry-specific regulations, compliance standards, and best practices may be required, particularly for roles in highly regulated functions like HR and Finance.
  • Relevant industry certifications based on the role (e.g., CCHP, PHR, SHRM-CP, CPA, etc.).
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved), if role is located in a correctional facility.
