ABOUT THE POSITION: Buchwald is seeking an experienced Comedy Touring Agent to represent and expand our roster of comedic talent

This role focuses on developing and booking live touring opportunities for comedians across clubs, theaters, festivals, and other live venues, while helping clients build sustainable touring careers and expand their audience reach. The ideal candidate brings strong industry relationships, a deep understanding of the live comedy landscape, and a proven ability to negotiate and close touring deals.This role is based out of our New York office. Responsibilities: Represent and manage a roster of comedy talent for live touring opportunities

Develop, package, and book national and international comedy tours. Pitch and submit talent to comedy clubs, theaters, festivals, colleges, corporate buyers, and promoters. Negotiate offers, contracts, and deal terms to maximize revenue and exposure for clients.

Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, buyers, venue operators, and managers. Strategically route tours and oversee performance schedules, ticket counts, and settlements. Identify emerging comedic talent and new market opportunities.

Track performance metrics and tour outcomes to guide client strategy. Maintain accurate deal records and internal reporting. Collaborate with internal departments including Film/TV, Literary, Digital, and Branding teams to expand opportunities for comedy clients.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in live touring, comedy touring, or talent representation. Proven ability to negotiate and close live performance deals.

Strong understanding of the live comedy touring landscape including clubs, theaters, festivals, and touring circuits. Established relationships with promoters, buyers, and venue operators preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.

Strong financial and business instincts with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple clients, tours, and priorities simultaneously. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Entrepreneurial approach to building a roster and expanding business opportunities. Compensation: Salary: Competitive Salary, Medical, Sick Pay, Vacations, Etc.Job Type: Full-time, 4-5 days in officeCompensation: $75,000 - $150,000 per year, but not limited to, relevant experience, client list, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
